WTF Video of the Week
So after my long hiatus, I have decided to herald my return by starting what I will hope becomes a weekly feature: the WTF Video of the Week. Directed by Keith Scofield, it’s a really sweet duet between Charlotte Gainsbourg and Beck. I’ve decided to post this mostly because of the incredible press that Antichrist is garnering. Seriously, a movie that makes people vomit slash have seizures? Watch the trailer sometime, for reals. That said, it’s kind of jarring to see Mlle Gainsbourg paired up with the ageless Beck after watching her writhe underneath Willem Dafoe. Her family background (she’s the daughter of indie giant Serge Gainsbourg and actress/singer Jane Birkin) and extensive music and film experience totally give her the sort of artsy cred necessary to justify such a quizzically bizarre video, though. As for Beck, well…we expected nothing less.
